UPDATE: French Gunman Dead
The siege in Toulouse has now ended with the death of gunman Mohammed Merah, who was responsible for the deaths of seven people.
Police entered the property this morning after more than a day-long siege by Merah, who is suspected of killing three soldiers, three children and a school teacher.
The French police entered the property and found nobody, until Merah emerged from the bathfoom firing several weapons, and then proceeded to jump from a window.
The police fired at him and found the 23-year-old's body lifeless on the ground.
Until that point they were unsure as to whether Merah was still alive, as they had not had any contact with him since yesterday night.
