Psychic powers include telepathy, which is mind to mind communication, precognition, gaining insights into the future, and clairvoyance and clairaudience, seeing and hearing things beyond the natural senses, as written by Billy Roberts’ in his 10-Step Psychic Development Programme, yet psychics are ridiculed, not often trusted, nor accepted, and all because these abilities are hard to prove scientifically.

We have seen from my last writing on left handiness, and how the brain works, that people have retrained their brain, so, on that theory those who have some psychic abilities, or a keen intuition, can, in fact, train themselves to become more psychically aware. There are also many outlets from which they can learn to further develop their skills, such as books, videos, groups, and from those more experienced than themselves.

This again is a hard topic to justify, for physical and scientific proof is often difficult to come-by, but it is getting easier, there is now lots of evidence captured on digital cameras, via voice recordings and by videographers.

There are also television programmes now, which tell the story of people who have died and are brought back to life, here is one such story:-

It tells of a neurologist who contracted bacterial meningitis, a scientist from an early age, who had no interest or belief in any form of religion or other beliefs, beyond science, until his life ended, he was brought to life, and has now told his tale!  This is part of what he said, “Maybe science and spirituality can work consistently with each other”. 

Other means of proof, or validation, as it is referred to, is brought forth at Spiritualist Churches, where clairvoyant readings are done.  If you can, watch and listen to the information given to an individual, see the expressions on their faces. Watching every emotional facial expression, and their emotional and verbal responses will tell you what they believe and what they don’t but,  of-course everything may not make sense at the time, so once again spend a while watching those who have had messages passed onto them.

Watch to see if they speak to the psychic medium after the service, often they remember the medium’s message was correct, a fact or incident had been mentioned which they may have forgotten, they may remember this as the service proceeds, and they will speak to the medium, often telling them they have remembered passed information, now given to them. This is good, for then evidence has been proved on both sides, for the receiver and the medium.

I must admit, that like everything in life, there are those who are false, untrue to themselves and others, they may ask too many questions, guess even, but false hood in those, should not make us miss trust everyone in this area of work.

I was also interested in researching into the possibility of these abilities, gifts, powers, call it what you may, running in families. I could not find any scientific written evidence, but there are plenty of written accounts by many well- known mediums who tell of their abilities been brought down the generations.

I asked this very question to a few well know working mediums via face book.

I have found that the ability runs in families a bit like singing and painting. The difference in each generation is if they want to use this gift or not...so the ability is genetic in my opinion but not the urge to use it.

For myself, I have found some answers which apply only to me, but I still have more questions than answers, perhaps that is how it is meant to be, we are not supposed to know everything!" Mia Dolan
