Poem: Motor Boat

by Cheryl Campbell

Poet Cheryl Campbell describes a day by the coast, as she watches a motor boat sail past

At first, the sight of the sea

was of ripples upon the water.

Making quiet, gentle sounds and patterns

as it flowed into little waves.

Suddenly,

in the distance

I heard a noise of an engine.

A motor boat created a wake,

as it darted through,

churning up the water.

Two young men laughing,

having a good time

accompanied this sight.

I had to smile.

Seeing people happy

makes me happy.
